This program teaches all the different elements of producing a theatrical show while tackling old stereotypes. Starting with well worn old stories - mystery, horror, western, superhero - the action and characters are created, the world is designed and finally the show is performed.
The participates can work on any aspect of the production that interests them. Whether they want to write the story, be on stage or design the set. They can do all of the above or only one, with no audition necessary. All this will culminate in the performance, with all the bells and whistles – Lights, music, speaking, costumes and set, all created by the gang.
This is an alternative theater program that embraces all different kinds of children from all different kinds of families. Providing a opportunity for those who may not fit into the stereotypes of princesses and princes, tough and frail, good and evil, but still want to save the day and live happily ever after.
